never can say goodbye
Telephone etiquette...Very complicated in a country that speaks the same language as me. Do you say goodbye or not? We always do in the UK (some even draw out goodbyes with "you put the phone down, no you, no you first! etc etc ad nauseum - mostly for hideous smug married types). Have had 2 friends practically put the phone down on me (it felt like). It was only when watching an episode of SATC that I realised that you don't really say 'bye that much over here. The conversation ends and the phone gets put down. Very strange.
